The Beacon System’s Modbus interface enables direct digital connection to the host computer at the plant. The interface is used for bi-directional communication between the DCS and the Beacon 3000. Communication from the Beacon to the DCS can include hundreds of measured properties, reliability factors for each property, data validity flags, system status, etc. |

The DCS can also send requests to the Beacon System, including: Field Units measuring sequence, system stopping and initialization, saving data, etc. The Beacon System has a built-in modem, installed in its industrial-standard PC. |

The modem connection
enables PetroMetriX to communicate with the user’s system for diagnostics and
calibration updates. |
