Beacon Lab System

The Power of the Beacon Lab System
The Beacon Lab System is a free-standing, comprehensive and high-performance petroleum analyzer, capable of simultaneously measuring multiple hydrocarbon properties, under laboratory conditions.

It is used for both Quality Assurance testing and model development to support the Beacon 3000 On-Line System.

The power of the Beacon Lab system is in its simplicity and versatility.

Simplicity and Versatility

The Beacon Lab System combines three separate desk-top units :
an analyzer, PC and laboratory sampling system. The user-interface software is remarkably simple, while on the other hand being highly versatile. It incorporates a data base which can efficiently manage scores of properties for hundreds of different liquids and streams. The sample system itself is highly flexible - handling extremely volatile liquids such as light Naphtha as well as heavy distillates such as Heavy

Gas Oil. One push on a single button is all that is needed to fill the sample cell.

Designed and Built for Maximum Reliability

The analyzer system is completely solid state and therefore highly accurate and reliable. A powerful long-life Tungsten Halogen light source is used to transmit the Near Infrared light through the fiber optic cables. Fiber optic cable is used to connect the analyzer with the sampling system cell. All parts in contact with the petroleum sample are made from Teflon or Stainless Steel, and are completely separated from any electrical contacts. All together these special features make the unit extremely safe.

Exploitation of Computer Power

A complete set of automatic calibration procedures is incorporated into the system, which includes background correction, wavelength calibration and dark current subtraction.

Calibration Models developed on the Lab System can easily be transferred to the Beacon On-Line system by pressing “File Copy” in the Windows Operating System environment.
